City of London guide Karen Chester leads this walk through the medieval streets of the City, from the Royal Exchange to the church of St Mary-le-Bow, Cheapside, home to Bow Bells, within the earshot of which any true Cockney must have been born. On the way, she investigates the true and fictional stories of Richard (Dick) Whittington – and his cat – four times Lord Mayor in the City of London, as well as the history of the office of Lord
Mayor, who is accorded precedence over all individuals except the sovereign.

Please bear in mind that this is a walking event. Comfortable shoes advised!
