In William Hogarth’s Modern Moral Subject paintings and engravings, London is his subject - not its townscapes but its people, warts and all! He treated his subjects like a dramatist and said, ‘My picture is my stage and men and women my players.’ In this walk led by Bridget Daley, a guide with expertise in the 18th century, we plunge into his world - the poverty-stricken streets, the bawdy, glittering, crime-ridden life of 18th century London. We follow in his footsteps around the area he most frequented, examining his pictures in the places he depicted.

Please note that this is an approximately 2 hour walk with no seating.
