Kinross House, one of Britain’s most remarkable Classical country houses, has recently undergone a major restoration thanks to owner Donald Fothergill. Originally Sir William Bruce bought the Kinross Estate in 1675 and soon began to lay out the garden beside Loch Leven, building his house 10 years later. The garden has been reinstated according to the 17th century plan but using modern plants, whilst the house has effectively been taken to pieces and reassembled.

As the house is now a luxury exclusive-use property the date cannot be confirmed until mid May. At present the two possible dates are 18 June 2019 or 25 June 2019. Diary permitting the group will be given a guided tour by Donald Fothergill himself and permitted a free-range garden visit, followed by lunch at a local hostelry (or BYO) before returning by bus to Haddington.

This event has been organised by the Lothians Fundraising Committee Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
