Join a private behind-the-scenes visit to The Theatre in the Woods, set within 350 acres of West Horsley Place, led by the founder and chief executive of Grange Park Opera, Wasfi Kani. Author and broadcaster Bamber Gascoigne inherited West Horsley Place in 2015 from his aunt, Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe. The tour tells the story behind the build of the UK’s first new opera house in the 21st century, constructed in just eleven months. Attendees will be able to wander through the gardens and watch preparations being made for the first performance of the 2019 season, Verdi’s Don Carlo, the following week.

This event has been organised by the Surrey Fundraising Committee Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
