In the morning session at the Scarth Hall, located in the centre of Staindrop village, there will be three background talks given by Anthony Pollard on the legacy of Ralph Neville, Martin Roberts on the architectural history of Raby Castle and Elizabeth Conran on the Vanes and their art collection.

This will be followed by a visit to the alabaster tombs in the nearby church, guided by Jane Crease.

After lunch (not provided) the study day will continue at Raby Castle with scheduled group tours.


This event has been organised by the Durham and Cleveland Fundraising Committee Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
