Art critic Ossian Ward’s book, ‘Look Again: How to experience the Old Masters’, offers a 10-step guide to looking at and breaking down the art of the Old Masters so that it can be understood from the viewpoint of a contemporary observer, not necessarily steeped in academic theory. This talk presents some of his intuitive categories – including ‘Art as Honesty’ and ‘Art as Vision’ – and, as well as offering new methods of interpretation, seeks to reassure the viewer of his or her own innate knowledge.

This event has been organised by the London Fundraising Committee Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
