To coincide with the National Gallery exhibition of Sorolla's work which will include portraits, landscapes, seascapes, garden views and bather scenes, for which Sorolla is most renowned, Robert Cumming will describe the technically gifted and spirited Sorolla (1863-1923) as an artist comparable to contemporaries such as Sargent and Monet.

Robert Cumming has spent a lifetime looking at art and writing about it. He worked at the Tate Gallery and founded Christie's Education, going on to be Professor of Art History at Boston University, Massachusetts, heading their campus in London.

This event has been organised by the Guernsey Fundraising Committee Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
