The Royal Society 11am
On Wednesday 16 January 2019
11:00 until 12:00
The Royal Society – then a group of natural philosophers and physicians – was founded in 1660 following a lecture at Gresham College by Christopher Wren. Today the fellowship counts some 1,600 of the world’s most eminent scientists. This private tour, led by members of the library staff, explores the society’s present home in Carlton House Terrace, and include the lavish Italian palazzo-style interiors of number six, features from the original John Nash interior in number seven, and treasures from the book and archive collections.
This event has been organised by the London Fundraising Committee Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
