Modern Art and the Old Masters - the new approach to familiar themes in 20th century art

Lecture | Menuhin Hall

Tuesday 20 March 2018 - 10:00 until 12:00

Valerie Woodgate will compare Old Master paintings with modern treatment of the same subjects, examining how modern art is inspired by earlier eras. Modern art has much in common with Old Masters but also differences and reinterpretations of subject and style. Will these differences add to or change our understanding of the subject and its message?

This event has been organised by the Surrey Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
