Lecture: British Artists of the Early 20th Century by Adrian Summer
Lecture | Bowdon Parish Centre
Thursday 8 February 2018 - 10:30 until 12:30
Recently enjoying a revival of reputation, many of the English Artists of the early 20th Century have been overlooked as they failed to conform to any of the period's recognisable “schools” of artists of the period. The lecture focuses on Dame Laura Knight, Eric Ravilious, Edward Bawden and their contemporaries – their work, its context and its artistic importance.
Adrian Summer has worked as an illustrator, Arts Development officer and lecturer in various academic and public institutions. He divides his time between organising study weekends in Britain, cruise ship lectures, painting and exhibiting.Members have greatly enjoyed several of his lectures in the past.
This event has been organised by the Cheshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
