Only 5% of the collections of Leeds Museums is on display. Well, where is the rest? The answer is at the Discovery Centre in Carlisle Road LS10 1LB where there are 1.3 million objects. The gallery is opened for this tour especially for the Art Fund, when the group will be shown round by Andy Kyrover, Access and Outreach Officer, and have an introductory talk giving a short history of Leeds Museums, amongst other things. Explore a state-of-the-art museum storage facility, storing and protecting over one million fascinating objects. From elephant skulls to a medieval log boat, mummy bandages and meteorites, the Discovery Centre offers a unique opportunity for hands-on exploration into the natural world, human history and ingenuity which you probably never knew existed!
