The Curious World of Hieronymous Bosch
Film | Durham University Conference Room
Wednesday 22 November 2017 - 17:45 until 20:00
In 2016, the largest ever retrospective of Bosch's works was held in his home town of Den. Bosch in the Netherlands, bringing together 35 of his 44 surviving works, was so popular that opening hours had to be extended to 1.00 am to meet the demand.
This film of the exhibition, with expert insights from curators and leading art experts, will allow viewers to appreciate the detail of Bosch's extraordinary paintings as never before, offering close-up views of the curiosities hidden within his brimming canvases, from cannibalistic clergymen to three-headed birds.
This film is organised by the Art Fund Durham and Cleveland Volunteer Fundraising Committee, in partnership with Durham University Centre for Visual Arts and Culture.
