Visit to Lulworth Castle House and Chapel

Visit | Lulworth Castle House

Wednesday 4 October 2017 - 14:15 until 14:15

This is the home of the Weld family built relatively recently but housing contents of great interest; particularly a collection of pictures assembled by the family since the 18th century.

The tour will be led by the owner. The group will also have the opportunity to visit its adjoining chapel built by Thomas Weld in 1785 on condition, it is said, that it should not look like a church. Hence this Catholic church looks more like a house or garden temple and is a fascinating building.

The castle tea rooms will be open for those who would like refreshments.

This event has been organised by the Dorset Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
