Stanway House and Foundation - Private Guided Tour

Private View | Stanway House and Fountain

Wednesday 4 October 2017 - 14:00 until 17:00

Stanway House is an exquisite Jacobean Manor House built in the mellow Cotswold stone. It was owned by Tewksbury Abbey for 800 years before becoming the property of the Earls of Wemyss. The family have made their home at Stanway for the last 500 years and it still contains much of the original furniture. There will be a guided tour of the house and then a visit to the Water Gardens which were first created in the 1720s and feature ponds, cascades, a great canal and the magnificent single jet fountain opened in June 2004. The tour will be followed by tea and homemade cake.

This event has been organised by the Oxfordshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
