11.00am Group One Alma-Tadema: At Home in Antiquity - SOLD OUT

Private View | Leighton House Museum

Wednesday 27 September 2017 - 11:00 until 12:30

The first major exhibition in London since 1913 devoted to Alma-Tadema’s career, this show is displayed throughout the wondrous studio house of the artist’s friend and contemporary, Frederick Lord Leighton. His work fixed ides in the popular imagination of what life in the ancient past ‘looked like’ – ideas and images that were taken to the stage and film and which remain with us today. Important pieces by Alma-Tadema will be seen, including ‘In My Studio’, plus some works of art by his wife, Laura, and others by his daughter, Anna.

This event has been organised by the Oxfordshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
