Tour of the University of Hull Art Collection

Guided Tour | Brymor Jones Library

In recognition of Hull's status as UK City of Culture 2017, this is a visit to The Brynmor Jones Library at the University of Hull, where Philip Larkin was librarian. Gallery director: John Bernasconi will lead a tour of the collection of British art from the turbulent period 1890 - 1940' including Beardsley, Sickert, Nicholson and Henry Moore. The Camden Town Group and Bloomsbury artists are particularly well represented. A biographic exhibition, 'Larkin: New Eyes Each Year', is also on display for you to explore independently.

Later on, the group can visit Ferens Art Gallery, The Maritime Museum or St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, described as 'having 'one of the most opulent and dramatic interiors of any nineteenth century church in England'.

This event has been organised by the South Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
