Alma-Tadema: The Story of an Exhibition

The story of the exhibition, Alma-Tadema: At Home in Antiquity, on display at Leighton House Museum, London, from 7 July to 29 October 2017.The exhibition explores the fascination of the artist Lawrence Alma-Tadema (1836-1912) with the representation of domestic life in antiquity. In this lecture the co- curator, Professor Liz Prettejohn, Professor of Art History at the University of York, will show that the two, remarkable studio- houses which the artist created in London served as a laboratory for his art-making.

This event has been organised by the York & East Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
