The Encounter: Drawings from Leonardo to Rembrandt

Exhibition co-curator Charlotte Bolland discusses this exhibition which will examine the moment of encounter between artist and sitter, the range of drawing tools and media that were used to create portraits as studies, workshop tools and individual works of art.

Selected from prestigious British collections, The Encounter will bring together nearly fifty works by artists who worked across Europe during a period of extraordinary artistic ingenuity, including Leonardo, the Carracci and Bernini in Italy, Dürer in Germany, Rembrandt in the Netherlands and Holbein in England.

Please note that tickets to the exhibition are not included and can be purchased directly from the Gallery.

This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
