Waltham Abbey and Copped Hall
Visit and Talk | Waltham Abbey and Copped Hall
Thursday 22 June 2017 - 11:00 until 16:30
A guided visit to the historic abbey, which was the last to be dissolved and reputedly the burial site of King Harold, who had built the third church on this site. In the afternoon, the visit continues to Copped Hall, an imposing Palladian mansion, once a ruin, but now in the course of substantial restoration. The guided tour will include the interior, with its perfect principal floor plan of a circuit of eight rooms grouped around two top stairwells and outside, the four acre 18th century walled garden.
This event has been organised by the Essex Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
