Shopping and identity - one year on
Lecture | The Bowes Museum
Wednesday 21 June 2017 - 10:30 until 12:30
Hannah Jackson applied for the Art Fund New Collecting Awards when it launched in 2014, and was awarded £60,000 over two years, to collect French haute couture for The Bowes Museum's fashion and textile collection. Her aim is to collect a capsule wardrobe in homage to Josephine Bowes reflecting her tastes, lifestyle and identity. Hannah's lecture will bring you up-to-date with her research and latest acquisitions. This talk is one year on, following her lecture from June 2016. Hannah will present her latest haute couture acquisition - a sneak preview before the item goes on display this summer.
This event has been organised by the Durham and Cleveland Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
