Treasures of North Cumbria - Wreay Church, Lanercost Priory and Brampton Church

Coach trip from The Bowes Museum and Scotch Corner to: St Mary's church and mausoleum at Wreay, near Carlisle, the eccentric 1840s masterpiece of local landowner Sarah Losh, built in memory of her sister and the subject of Jenny Uglow's book The Pinecone; Lanercost Priory near Hadrian's Wall, where lunch will be available in historic Dacre Hall; and St Martin's in nearby Brampton, the only church by Philip Webb, William Morris's architect, with richly-coloured stained glass windows by Burne-Jones.
