House for an Art Lover, Studio Pavilion and Heritage Centre

Visit | House for an Art Lover

Thursday 20 April 2017 - 10:30 until 13:00

This is a wonderful opportunity to join Linda and Barry Atherton at the House for an Art Lover’s Studio Pavilion where they will be working as In-house artists during the month of April, and where they will acquaint the group with their current work.

The Heritage Centre is housed in the former stables and dovecot building, which has been transformed into an educational facility, combining a number of activities. These include the showcasing of local history, public art and sculpture, along with the shipbuilding industry and the British Empire Exhibition of 1938. There is a range of original and facsimile artefacts and publications held in an adjacent Archive Room which relate to the displays.

Gemma Mannion, the Events Manager at this new complex, will introduce the group to the gallery, workshops, studios and heritage centre, in the form of a short talk. Afterwards, there will be a welcome cup of tea or coffee, and a chance to ask questions.

For those of you who want to make a day of it, you can visit the House for an Art Lover itself, and/or have lunch at the Café which is available to book for lunch online or by phoning them.

This event has been organised by the Strathclyde Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
