Revolution: Russian Art 1917-1932

Lecture | Bowdon Parish Centre

Thursday 23 March 2017 - 10:00 until 12:00

The Russian Revolution was not only a political event. The impact of the great experiment in socialism profoundly affected all aspects of Russian society and culture from architecture to theatre and music to art and beyond. This lecture, which coincides with the Royal Academy or Arts exhibition, Revolution: Russian Art 1917-32, explores the response of the renowned artists of the era – including Chagall, Malevich and Kandinsky – to the tumultuous events of the period before the start of Stalin’s brutal suppression.

This event has been organised by the Cheshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
