What do art conservators do all day?

Lecture | York Medical Society

Thursday 16 March 2017 - 14:00 until 16:00

Richard Hawkes, experienced conservator of watercolours, prints and drawings, will discuss restoration projects he has carried out for some of Yorkshire’s top art collections. He will explain how the techniques he employs can turn the clock back on foxed, stained and damaged artworks, and talk about how the role of the conservator has evolved in recent years to support the work of today’s art galleries and museums.

This event has been organised by the York & East Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
