Edgar Degas - a man to reckon with
Lecture | Princethorpe College
Tuesday 21 February 2017 - 10:00 until 12:30
In 1917, a hundred years after the unremarked death of Degas, art historian, Margaret-Louise O’Keeffe will illustrate the life and times of this French artist whose oeuvre included history paintings, portraits, scenes of café and domestic life, horses and dancers. A superb draughtsman, he produced oils, prints, pastels, sculptures and helped stage the Impressionist exhibitions. A complex character, he was quarrelsome, never married and often alienated friends. This annual lecture will bring the man to life
This event has been organised by the Warwickshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
