Annual lunch and lecture at Rudding Park

After morning coffee, a lecture by Greville Worthington entitled The Space of Art. Greville Worthington is Chairman of Yorkshire Sculpture Park, a Trustee of Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and contemporary curator at Bowes Museum. He judged the Turner Prize in 2002 and was a Trustee and Chair of the Grants Committee of the Henry Moore Foundation for 16 years before retiring in 2014. His own art collection includes work by his friend Damien Hirst. His other interests include the restoration of a 1940's Mollycroft travelling caravan and a garden collection of bamboo.
Art is a journey, and his talk will use the metaphor of that journey in the footsteps of the Japanese artist Hiroshige in his work The 53 Stations of Tokaido.
This event has been organised by the North Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
