A day with the Norwich School of Artists - Sold out

Coach Visit | Three galleries in and near Norwich

Tuesday 15 November 2016 - 08:00 until 19:00

This is a special opportunity to learn more about the painters of the early 19th century Norwich School of Artists who created a distinctive regional expression of the new feeling for nature in art in their response to the landscape of Norfolk. See some of their works that are not normally available to the public. The first port of call, after coffee, will be Mandell's Gallery where the Director, John Allen, will introduce the Norwich Society and their exhibition celebrating the gallery's 50th birthday and connection with selling Norwich School paintings. Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery is a short walk away and there the group shall be introduced to their unrivalled collection of Norwich School works. After lunch at the Castle the coach will take the group to a private house near Norwich, to see the owner’s Norwich School collection.

Coach pick up: Milton Park & Ride, Cambridge
