Talk by Frances Stendlake on the Sussex artist Robert Bevan

A talk on the Hove born artist Robert Bevan who was one of the founding members of the Camden Group and counted among his friends the great Paul Gauguin and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. He spent a good amount of his life living and painting in Sussex and his second ever solo exhibition in London, comprising of mostly Sussex scenes met with great critical acclaim at the time.

The Sussex committee are delighted to have persuaded Frances Stendlake, the author of the book published in 2008 Robert Bevan: From Gauguin to Camden Town, to give a talk at the wonderful setting of Danny House in Hurstpierpoint.

Time permitting, Frances may be able to sign copies of her book which will be available to buy on the day.

This event has been organised by the Sussex Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
