Shopping in 18th century York - Sold out

Tour | Assembly Rooms

Sunday 2 October 2016 - 10:30 until 12:30

Starting with coffee at the Assembly Rooms at 10.30am, the group will tour central York with Darrell Buttery, who has made a particular study of the luxury trade in the York of the 18th century. The group will look at the surprising amount of evidence which survives, particularly in shop fronts. On the way Darrell will talk about many of the businesses which thrived and the characters who ran them.

This event has been organised by the York & East Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
