From Bristol to the sea on the Tower Belle

Tour | The Bristol Packet

Thursday 14 July 2016 - 12:00 until 16:15

A very special summer trip through the Floating Harbour and down the Avon Gorge, with Francis Greenacre. No other inland harbour in the world has such a spectacular approach. Bristol’s Floating Harbour, the Hotwells Spa, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Avon Gorge - the seven miles to the sea are full of interest and fascinating history. This is a bespoke tour with Francis Greenacre as lecturer. For many years Francis was curator of fine art at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, has recently been involved in the newly opened Clifton Suspension Bridge Visitors Centre, and has encyclopedic knowledge of the Avon Gorge, Bristol and its history.

The Tower Belle offers hot and cold drinks, a bar and light refreshments. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch, as lunch is not included.

The Tower Belle will leave from beside the SS Great Britain at 12.15pm, please arrive 15 minutes before departure.

This event has been organised by the Bristol and Bath Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
