A private guided tour of the house and parts of the garden by a member of the family, owners of this Grade I listed Manor House, rebuilt in the 16th century. The estate was bought by clothier Samuel Ruggles in 1760 and the Ruggles – Brise family still live at Spains Hall. In the afternoon visit the Guildhall, built c1470 to house a guild of priests and to provide a school. A trust was formed in 2008 to save and restore the building.

Lunch may be taken at The Fox pub in Finchingfield but the cost is not included in the ticket price.

This event has been organised by the Essex Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
