Recent redevelopment work at York Art Gallery has enabled York Museums Trust to establish a new Centre of Ceramic Art, which highlights the gallery's collection of British studio ceramics, the largest and amongst the most important in the UK, covering the entire British studio ceramics movement. Helen Walsh, Curator of Ceramics, will give a guided tour.
In the afternoon Jane Crease, Regional Chair for Art Fund Yorkshire, will give a guided your of little known areas of interest in the city, including King's Manor, Bender, Goodram Gate, Holy Trinity Church, finishing at St. Crux Parish Hall, where, if needed, the group can partake in their much recommended tea and cakes.
This event has been organised by the South Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
