Adlington Hall and Wedgwood Museum

Coach Visit | Adlington Hall

This visit is on a day when Adlington Hall is closed to the public.

Adlington Hall, near Macclesfield, is one of the most beautiful country homes in England, and reflects both the history of English architecture and the 700-year story of a single family, the Leghs. It was built in the 15th and 16th centuries and added to in the 18th Century. Have a guided tour of the hall, which has original furniture, paintings and portraits.The gardens immediately around the hall have undergone a renaissance over the last 15 years and the group will be given a tour with a gardener.

The following day visit the Wedgwood Museum, to see the important collection saved for the nation by the Art Fund campaign. The group will have a curator talk on the collection, followed by a guided tour of the museum, including a visit to the factory.

The two pick up points will be Penrith Auction Mart,10am and Crooklands Hotel 10.30am. Staying at Best Western Moat House Hotel in Stoke.

A deposit of £50 is requested to book your place by 14 March 2016 with the balance payable by 14 April 2016.

This event has been organised by the Cumbria Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
