From sapling to cricket bat

Talk | Fosketts Sawmill

Saturday 30 April 2016 - 11:00

Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex grow 75% of the willow that goes to make cricket bats. Guy Foskett, one on the world's experts on making cricket bats, will talk about the history of the bat. He will show how the willow is cut, split into clefts and the process of construction. Foskett Willows Ltd Bromeswell was established in 1840.

There will be an opportunity to walk and see the willows growing around the lakes.
