Curating in the Arabian Gulf
Lecture | Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum
Wednesday 6 April 2016 - 17:30 until 19:00
Qatar, together with other Emirate States, is investing in culture, building world-class art collections and impressive institutions in which to contain them. Dr Sophie Bostock, formerly an Assistant Curator at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts at Birmingham University, has been working as Curator of Prints and Drawings for Qatar Museums for over two years. In an illustrated lecture, she will talk about her role at the Orientalist Museum, Doha, showing a selection of the objects in this growing collection and discussing the development of cultural life in Qatar.
This event has been organised by the Warwickshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
