The Artist and The Garden by Christopher Woodward
Lecture | Edgar Hall
Sunday 28 February 2016 - 14:30
Inspired by the current Royal Academy exhibition Painting the modern Garden: Monet to Matisse Christopher Woodward will explore the importance of gardens in the works of 20th century artists. Christopher is an art historian and writer who has re-discovered a teenage interest in gardening. He was Director of the Holburne Museum 2005 and now Director of the Garden Museum, which is currently undergoing a second phase of building work and will re-open in Sprin 2017 with six new galleries of garden history, including a room dedicated to artists' views of gardens.
This event has been organised by the Somerset Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
