Art of the Jagger family

Lecture | Quaker Meeting House

Tuesday 23 February 2016 - 19:00 until 21:00

An illustrated lecture on a trinity of South Yorkshire artists. All born towards the end of the 19th century, in Kilnhurst near Rotherham. Each successful in their own right. Charles Sargeant Jagger ARA MC, established a world-wide reputation as a sculptor, his brother David's portraiture easily ranks amongst the finest of the 20th century and their sister Edith was an exceptional painter of flowers and delicate still life, whose fabric designs show an outstanding eye for colour.

Timothy Dickson, has lectured extensively on collecting contemporary British art and is a trained graphic designer who assisted on the monographs of Elizabeth Frink’s prints.

This event has been organised by the South Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
