The Oxford and Cambridge Club - SOLD OUT
Visit | Oxford & Cambridge University Club
Tuesday 16 February 2016 - 10:00 until 11:30
Join a specially arranged tour of the Oxford and Cambridge Club, designed by Sir Robert Smirke, the architect of the British Museum, and completed in 1838. An important example of the fashionable Greek Revival style, the façade conceals a magnificent yet elegantly understated neoclassical interior, and houses a Library which is one of the finest of its kind in London. It is also home to over thirty portraits, ranging in date from the 17th century to the present day, together with a number of works on paper, including rare prints and watercolours, and a small selection of sculptures.
This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
