Organised by the Kent Volunteer Fundraising Committee

Illustrated lecture and tea: What Price Art?

Talk | The Kippington Centre

Tuesday 16 February 2016 - 14:00

Dr Stephen Deuchar, director of the Art Fund since 2010, provides a fascinating insight into the internal debates and discussions that precede its public campaigns and its support for art galleries and museums up and down the country. Many will be aware of the Art Fund’s leadership of the campaigns in 2014 to save the Van Dyck self-portrait and the Wedgwood collection for the nation. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Stephen will give chapter and verse on the workings of the distinguished – and occasionally divided – Trustees who choose the focus for the Fund’s activities, and will give the very latest news on the Art Fund's 2016 objectives.

This event has been organised by the Kent Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
