Overseas Trip to Dresden

Tour | Dresden

11 – 15 October 2015

The Jewel of Saxony, Dresden was known in the 18th century as the Florence of the north, as Italian artists flocked to the court of Augustus the Strong. Staying at the 4 star Westin Bellevue Hotel overlooking the Elbe, the trip will include the legendary Green Vaults of the Residenzschloss, the art collections of the Zwinger Palace and the Albertinum, and the Military History Museum’s new wing designed by Daniel Libeskind. There will also be visits to Meissen, Pillnitz Castle, jolly restaurants and lunch on a paddle-steamer. There is the potential to book tickets for the Semperoper, one of Europe’s finest opera houses.

This event has been organised by the Worcestershire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
