Iford Manor - SOLD OUT

Tour | Iford Manor

Tuesday 29 September 2015 - 14:00 until 16:30

Mr and Mrs Cartwright–Hignett have very kindly opened their house and gardens for a group visit. While the gardens are often open to the public, this historic house is rarely open. Iford Manor has a long and interesting history. It dates back 500 years. The house now has a classical eighteenth century façade. In the early 20th century, the manor was owned by Harold Peto, architect and landscape gardener. The interior now shows the modifications made by Peto to this sixteenth century house. The visit will include a visit to the library which is one of the finest in private hands. The garden illustrates Peto’s passion for the classical Italian style.

A terrific tea is included in the price. The house and gardens are generally accessible, but include some stairs.

This event has been organised by the Bristol and Bath Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
