Buscot Park tour with 'Iris Murdoch at Buscot Park' Lecture - SOLD OUT

A private visit to Lord Faringdon’s seat, with its magnificent 18th century house, under the expert guidance of Roger Vlitos, curator of the Faringdon Collection.

After viewing the Four Seasons walled garden with its faux waterfall Roger will present an entertaining lecture in Buscot’s beautiful theatre. It will focus on the eventful performance at Buscot in August 1939 by the Magpie Players, with young undergraduate Iris Murdoch in the cast.

The house’s world famous works of art and furnishings will be shown before lunch at 1pm.

At 2pm a guided tour of the “Alhambra-like” Peto Water Gardens and Pleasure Gardens can be savoured.

Please bring a picnic (shelter & seating provided).

This event has been organised by the Oxfordshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
