Gabriele Münter and Wassily Kandinsky by Eveline Eaton
Talk | Royal Over-Seas League
Monday 15 June 2015 - 15:00 until 16:00
Many artists have been linked on a personal and professional level. This Spring’s series ‘Artistic Relations’ will look at the creative connections and artistic influences within a close relationship or group.
Gabriele Münter was Kandinsky’s pupil at the Phalanx School in Munich where he was principal and their contact developed into a professional and personal twelve year relationship. They, along with Franz Marc and August Macke, established The Blue Rider group which created a new art embracing various styles, techniques and subject. Kandinsky and Münter’s turbulent relationship and their individual styles will be explored in this lecture.
This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
