Sudbury- Gainsborough's House and Guided Walk
Guided Tour | Sudbury
Thursday 4 June 2015 - 11:00 until 15:00
Sudbury is an ancient market town with a heritage in the weaving and silk industries. The 18th century artist Thomas Gainsborough was born in Sudbury, and the surrounding countryside inspired much of his work. The visit will start with a tour of the town by guides in period costume followed by lunch at the mill hotel overlooking watermeadows.
In the afternoon there will be a private guided tour around Gainsborough's house which has now been converted into a museum and art gallery.
This event has been organised by the Essex Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
