Benholm Castle

Visit | Benholm Castle

Wednesday 27 May 2015 - 11:00 until 15:00

Roddy Strachan always wanted to live in a castle so he and his wife Fiona bought the ruined keep at Benholm planning to turn it into a wonderful home. Unfortunately a large part of the building collapsed whilst various heritage bodies were trying to agree the best way of underpinning it. Nothing daunted the Strachans decided to renovate the adjacent Georgian House of which only the walls were still standing. This has taken them many years as it was done on a very tight budget which is something you will find very difficult to believe when you see what they have achieved.

Directions to the castle will be sent with tickets.

This event has been organised by the Angus Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
