Visit to the Rame Peninsula in South East Cornwall

Visit and Talk | Rame Barton

Friday 22 May 2015 - 10:00 until 16:00

The day starts at the home and studio of the potter Paul Cardew at Rame. Paul studied at Loughborough and taught at Exeter Art College. He and his wife Karen set up a company producing pottery designs for Royal Daulton, Portmeirion, the Tea Council and the Disney Boomtown Rats. The group will visit Paul's studio and the 13th century Rame church dedicated to St. Germanus.

After lunch served at the Kingsland Institute, award winning and charismatic artist Louise Courtnell will talk about her career including her time trained by Robert Lenkiewicz. Highly acclaimed for her portrait painting, she is also an accomplished still life and landscape painter. As she talks she will paint a portrait describing and illustrating her technique.

Tea will be served at the end of the day, allowing time to explore the lovely twin villages of Kingsland and Cawsand.

This event has been organised by the Cornwall Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
