Borders double bill day trip to Abbotsford and Mellerstain

Coach Visit | Abbotsford

Friday 5 September 2014 - 09:00 until 19:00

The day begins by coach to Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott, where the private tour will focus specifically on his extraordinary collection of furniture, art, arms and books. Coffee and scones are included at the Ochiltrees restaurant in the new visitor’s centre with stunning views across the estate.

In the afternoon the groups visits Mellerstain, one of Scotland’s finest stately homes and a unique example of Adam design; a treasure trove of paintings, period furniture, embroidery, and exquisite interior decoration.

The coach will leave at 9am, opposite the Newcastle Central Station, returning at approximately 7pm.

This event has been organised by the Northumberland Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
