Inner Temple and Temple Church
Visit | Inner Temple and Temple Church
Tuesday 20 May 2014 - 10:30 until 14:00
In the 12th century the Knights Templar built a round church by the Thames, which became known as the Temple Church. After the Order was abolished in 1312, lawyers occupied the site forming two societies, one of which was the Inner Temple. The visit will begin here with an introduction, followed by a tour of the building and Main Hall, as well as a talk by the Verger in the Temple Church. With special permission, lunch will be served in a beautiful private dining room in the Benchers’ Apartments.
This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
