Port Eliot and Antony House

Private View | Port Eliot

Friday 2 May 2014 - 10:30

Port Eliot has the rare distinction of being a Grade I listed house, also containing Grade I listed park and garden. This is a private visit on a day when the house is not open to the public. We will be given a tour of the house including the kitchen and basement rooms. This year, the house is holding an installation based on the Great War, which will also be available to view. Coffee will be available on arrival and lunch will be served in the Long Gallery adjacent to the house.

Antony House has been the home of the Carew family for almost six centuries, with the present house completed in the early 18th century. In this private visit, we will be shown around by Sir Richard Carew Pole, who will give us a historical background to the house and family as well as talking about his own contemporary art collection.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
