Vikings: Life and Legend

Private View | British Museum

Wednesday 9 April 2014 - 08:45

This exclusive viewing begins witha brief talk by curator Tom Williams.

Between the 8th and early 11th century the Vikings expanded from their Scandinavian homelands to connect cultures over four continents. New discoveries, including part of a mass grave of Viking warriors, show how our understanding of their culture is still changing. At the heart of the exhibition is a 37-metre-long warship, as well as personal objects, jewellery, amulets and idols, revealing how the Vikings saw themselves and their world

This event has been organised by the London Events Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
